Building Successful Partnerships with Businesses

Atlanta

Learn how your nonprofit can work together with local businesses to build stronger programs.

Free
90 minutes

The Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta connects and inspires businesses and volunteer leaders to make a positive impact on the Atlanta community. Their members represent a variety of roles, ranging from corporate social responsibility and community affairs to human resources and marketing. Workplace volunteerism has long been viewed as an employee benefit, but it also has tremendous potential to impact serious social issues. Throughout the business community, CVC works to raise awareness about corporate volunteerism and its benefits to companies. Lea Rolfes, executive director at CVC of Atlanta, will discuss how local nonprofits can successfully partner with businesses through volunteer programs and other means to enhance their programs and services.

Participants will learn:

  • The true meaning of CSR (corporate social responsibility). It is definitely a buzzword in volunteer and business circles, but what does it really mean?
  • How to develop expertise in connecting to the corporate sector to foster partnerships resulting in tangible community impact.
  • How to effectively identify realistic roles, recruit appropriate volunteers and manage project details for corporate volunteers.

Presenter: Lea Rolfes, Executive Director, Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta
