Arts Month Public Art and Photography: A Workshop and Panel Discussion at Serenbe

Atlanta

Presented by the Foundation Center-Atlanta and the Fulton County Arts Council Public Art Program.

150 minutes

How can you, as a photographer, undertake a public art project? Or how can you, as a commissioning organization, think about photography as a public art medium? Join us for a presentation of local, national, and international public art projects – both temporary and long-term – which incorporate lens-based art in innovative ways. A visual presentation of traditional and non-traditional approaches to public art practice and photography will be followed by a panel discussion among photographers, artists who use photography, curators, fabricators, and administrators. Learn about some of the many opportunities, resources, materials and vendors available to photographers in the public art field.

Presenter:

  • Lisa Tuttle, Public Art Education and Outreach Coordinator, Fulton County Arts Council
Panelists:
  • Matt Haffner, artist/photographer
  • Annette Brown, photographer
  • Anne Archer Dennington, Executive Director, Flux Projects
  • Anne Tracht, arts consultant

This free workshop is open to photographers and artists of all levels of experience, arts organizations, and anyone with a general interest in the field.
