Foundation Finder

Foundation Finder is a free lookup tool on the Center's web site that provides basic facts on private grantmakers in the U.S. It is designed for those seeking quick access to core information about a foundation, including the most recent IRS filing. You will find listings for private foundations, community foundations, grantmaking public charities, and direct corporate giving programs. Please note that only private foundations are required to file Form 990-PF. Community foundations and grantmaking public charities file Form 990, and direct corporate giving programs have no mandated reporting requirement.

To perform a search, type in the foundation name, or part of the foundation name in the "Name" search entry box. You may also bring up lists by location (city, state, or zip code) if you don't have a name, or you can search by EIN.

Sample search:
You need to find the contact information, as well as the most recent 990-PF, for the Boone Foundation.

Suggested search strategy:
In the "Name" search entry box, type Boone. Foundation Finder is not case sensitive, so you can type in any combination of lower and upper case letters. From the state drop-down list, select North Dakota.

Click on the "Find" button.
