Is there a Foundation Center library or Cooperating Collection near me?
The Foundation Center operates libraries at five locations. These include national collections at our headquarters in New York City and at
our field offices in Washington, DC, Atlanta, Cleveland, and San Francisco. Center libraries provide access to a unique collection of materials on philanthropy and are open to the public free of charge. Professional reference librarians are on hand to instruct library users in how to research funding information using Center publications and other materials and resources.
The Center's Cooperating
Collections (CCs) are located in public, academic, and special libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit agencies in all 50 states and in other countries around the world. Cooperating Collections offer a core collection of Center publications
free to the public, and their staffs are trained to direct patrons to appropriate resources on funding information.
Most CCs offer access to Foundation Directory Online, Philanthropy In/Sight®, and Foundation Grants to Individuals Online. Many CCs also have directories and reports on local funders as well as copies of IRS
information returns for private foundations in their state or region. Some offer their own orientations and other community workshops.
