Special Events: Know When to Hold 'Em, When to Fold 'Em, or When to Walk Away
Free
Washington, DC
Wednesday, July 7th
10:00 - 11:30 am
Since the economic tsunami of 2008, nonprofit organizations have been desperately looking for alternative funding sources and entrepreneurial opportunities as a way to fill their revenues gap. For nonprofits who are experienced in the art of hosting special events, they are looking for ways to make them bigger, better and more profitable. For newer organizations who are looking over the rainbow for a pot of gold, they view special events with either trepidation or an opportunity to diversify their funding sources.
"Special Events: Know When to Hold 'Em, When to Fold 'Em, or When to Walk Away" is designed to help organizations determine if this is a viable option to create new fundraising opportunities. We will cover:
- Knowing if you are ready to do fundraising benefits
- The key goals to remember when hosting special events
- Types of events and deciding if you can do them
- The logistics of planning special events from A-Z
- Evaluating the "success" of your event - the debriefing process.
This is a highly interactive workshop! Bring your ideas, questions and business cards. Who knows what possibilities are ahead in terms of possible joint events?
